2020 Resolution #10- Give up doing laundry... okay, just sometimes.
Whether you are a mover n’ shaker or expert procrastinator!!
We get it. For most people, laundry is usually at the bottom half of the list. If you moved your laundry around as much as you moved #laundrynight on your to-do list, your kids my get lost in the piles!
You’ve got plenty to do. We all know the kids jerseys can’t go more than a full Saturday before they need to be buried in the laundry basket or entombed in the backyard. Ripped, torn, frayed, and stone washed jeans have come in and out of style for the last 30 years. And let’s face it, no amount of body spray will cover the stifling fumes that is chicken curry or Tex-Mex funk.
What’s our solution? We offer an affordable Wash & Fold service so you can simply drop your laundry off and we will wash, remove stains, dry, and fold your clothes for you.
Aren’t wash and fold services a luxury?
Really? Do my laundry for me? Isn’t that what the 1%’ers do??
Fair question. Let’s look at it and see if it can work for you.
Is it worth my time? What’s your time worth?
Who doesn’t need some downtime when they get home? In a day and age where we have more to do than necessary, we are also coming to the realization that our time is more valuable than we once thought.
Have you looked at the value of your time? According ot the site Payscale, the average salary in Marietta and Smyrna is $59k/year. Which is about $28/hour per home.
Many homes have a single income earner that could be making $12.-$15/hour. You may think that it is somewhat of stretch but let’s see how important it can be in the big picture. Sure, when you get home, it’s either time to unwind or take care of the kids or finish those other chores. We all know, you could never put monetary value on quality time with your kids. How about those other things? It’s likely that your time is worth more than what you get paid on the daily grind. So whether it’s $15/hour or $28/hour you probably feel that your time is worth $5-$10 MORE an hour in your time off.
Good, we think it is too.
That is why making room for the menial chores like laundry is worth delegating, so you have time for other things like family, unwinding, or that side-hustle you’ve been working on for months.
How much does wash and fold laundry service cost?
It could depend on how many kiddos you have or if your shopping mantra matches Oprahs, ‘never the same outfit twice.’ Our Pricing starts out at $0.89/lb if you drop it off. If we pick it up and drop it off for you there are other fees. Check out our Pickup and Delivery page for more details.
For two people it could be a little over 20 lbs a week. A family of 4 could be 40 to 50 pounds. Let’s break it down.
For the couple it could be just under $20 and the family of 4 it could be from $35 to $45. We already know that your time off is worth more than what you make at work. 2 to 3 hours of laundry could be $36 to $135 of your time outside of work. If you spent that money on laundry, what would you do with that extra time? Extra long naps, hanging with friends, or catching up on family binge-watching the Mandalorian?!?! All important tasks.
I’m on a tight budget!!
A solution for those on a tight budget, let’s think about the costs involved. If you have your own washer and dryer you are paying for water, the electricity or gas to heat that water, as well as the wear and tear on your washer and dryer over the years. Not always so easily quantifiable, and how many people really do the math anyway?
If you use our machines, then you’ll know what to expect each week. By the way, we have new machines coming very soon!! But of course, it still takes time to wrangle the little ones and keep them occupied.
So it comes down to convenience. Is it more convenient to do it yourself? Or is it more convenient to drop off the laundry and spend your time doing something more valuable like focusing on school, kids, downtime??
For many people, it may seem like a luxury if it were done every single week. But the truth is, there are times when we are simply stretched too thin with things like last minute school meetings, staying after work late, and last minute visits from family and friends. This is a lifesaver for the family that can see the value of doing it even once a month. You aren’t just saving the time that you can put dollar signs next to, but you are gaining time for what is really important. That’s a story only you can tell.
We strive to give great service all of the time. We are here when you need us. Give us a call or swing by.
