Holiday Dinner Dirty Laundry

Not the only dirty laundry aired at the Holiday dinner

The Holidays are coming at us like a freight train!! When you think Thanksgiving and Christmas, how soon does the thought of Black Friday rest somewhere between each heart palpitation?

Well as we think on past Holiday dinners, it’s easy to remember the good things, but as we know, good ‘adulting’ means we must think ahead and maybe we can mitigate some Holiday stress. Let’s think back to last year’s dinner table drama. You may have blocked out the Holiday tumult between the adult and kid’s tables and the calamity that ensued with overzealous Kool-Aid slurps, electric knife turkey jarring, table trembling, ham-slicing, and wine stains splayed on the table runners. These are the remnants of festive dinner memories finally nested in the demonstrative antics and display that is Uncle Clyde’s story telling.

So, amid all the effusive family gossip and orange-hued politics, you stay true the word of the year, Preparation. This time you’ll be ready.

Here are some Holiday laundry tips to get you prepared!!

  • If you are visiting family or friends keep a couple Shout stain wipes to attach those stains on your kids freshly starched polos.  Or for a home remedy on cotton garments, use some vinegar and sponge, don’t scrape or scrub with the white vinegar. If it is a bad stain or something that will be worse, soak garment in 3 parts water and 1 part water overnight. For something like wine, sprinkle salt on the stain a let it sit for a few minutes. Then, under cold water gently rub then stain. Repeat as necessary and then wash.

  • For Linens, keep in mind that Oxiclean should be one of the last steps. First soak the linen in room temperature water for at least 30 minutes. Rinse the linen gently by kneading, without wringing it out. Follow the instructions on Oxiclean or another product with hydrogen peroxide, and wash appropriately. • Finally, use our Wash and Fold service by dropping off or have it picked up. If you’re short on time, you can use any of the tips need like mentioned above and simply drop off your laundry or we can pick it and deliver it back to you.

These tips should prove to be helpful. We are grateful that you choose us regularly and we are happy to serve your family and friends!
